Since the reform of China Geological Exploration from institutions to the business units,performance appraisal has been related to leadership and human resources staff be moreconcerned about the issue. The author’s aim is to design a practical performance evaluationindex system for Geological Exploration units.The first part, on performance, performance evaluation and performance assessmentindicators system of the basic theories are elaborated, with a focus on key performanceindicators theory, Balanced Scorecard, goal management theory and theory of360-degreeperformance appraisal conducted a comprehensive analysis.Secondly, according to the particular circumstances of geological prospecting units forthe design of a set of performance evaluation index system, which is the focus of this paper.First, geological prospecting units summarized key performance indicator system designprinciples and the integrity of steps, focusing on geological exploration units designed for ahierarchical classification of the performance evaluation index system. Design from the fivelevels constitute a performance measure, including the functions of the target indicators, taskperformance indicators, benchmark performance indicators, performance indicators andsatisfaction around the target, and these indicators are the design and the use of secondaryindicators to define the scope, composition a complete index system. On this basis, develop astandard performance measure, which quantitative standard and non-quantitative criteria.Finally, combining subjective and quantitative analysis, determine the evaluation indexweights.Finally, the design of performance evaluation index system of geological surveycompany in AZ empirical test.
