As the business competition is growing intensely, the rivalrousness of human resource seems more and more fierce as well. The time gives a great challenge to the companies to get, strive and keep associates by the means of salary and benefit management. Salary and benefit, the payment to the associates and the management, pass the organization’s goal and the intention of the management to the employee, match the personal behavior to the corporation’s. It is a useful tool to balance the relationship between employee and the corporation. The key role that C&B plays in the enterprise management determines that it is significant to establish C&B system to meet the need of modern enterprise system.W Co. is branch of a great commercial retail company located in Nanchang. Its C&B system is quite simple. There are four layers among the labors, including associate/clerk, skilled, supervisor and manage. Each layer has its own minimum salary. And the new comer or the promoter should be paid according to the minimum salary strictly. Besides, all associates have an annual performance evaluation, on which the salary adjustment is based. Thus, almost everyone will get a raise of salary more or less. Although the current C&B system represents fairness and justness, easy to carry out, and is good to keep the senior associates. In the long term, the salary is lack of competition, cannot improve the associates engagement.By ameliorating the company’s current C&B system, it may form a benign competition inside the enterprise, so as to guarantee the long-term development. Also, the improvement is vital important for mobilizing associates’ positivity and creation, as well as drawing out the staffer’s potential capacities. Meanwhile, the superiority salary may absorb the outstanding talents. To sum up, the improvement of the current C&B system would realize the aim of associate "stay, grow and absorb".
