As regional urbanization and urban regionalism develop, the connotation of unban space changes accordingly. The promotion of co-urbanization among Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou based on the construction of city group on west bank of Taiwan Strait benefits the acceleration of information exchange, currency circulation and workforce stream. As a result, it helps form a reasonable space organization pattern and utilize resources to maximum efficiency. In return, downtown areas will be less crowded to make the eco-system in order; flaws of vested marketing mechanism can be amended; the unification of urban and rural areas develops and the cooperative mechanism of innovative regionalism continues. The paper discusses the co-urbanization among Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou from an angle of spatial structure by analyzing documents, comparisons, systems, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Firstly, by inspecting the connotation and extension of co-urbanization, the regional range of the three cities can be defined. Secondly, the problems and advantages of co-urbanization among the three cities are analyzed by modeling the economic connection intensity. Thirdly, the co-urbanization among Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou is specifically divided into three layers in spatial coordination, that is, county co-urbanization, city co-urbanization and regime co-urbanization. Furthermore, specific thoughts of development are put forward. Finally, based on previous analyses and comparisons, correspondent strategies and suggestions are given to accelerate the co-urbanization among Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou in the following six aspects:coordination mechanism, infrastructure, public service, industrial development, co-protection of eco-environment, and civil participation. This paper argues that the co-urbanization of Xiazhangquan is the need of expanding the west bank of strait economic center city and promoting minnan regional economic competitiveness. There are strong economic ties between the three cities of Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, but at the same time there are space Contact imbalances. Since the implementation of the the west bank of strait strategy, the Xiazhangquan metropolitan area’s economy has been greatly developed, but there are still some problems in the urban integration, such as the population of Urban core area is too small, coordination mechanisms are inadequate, the city division of labor is not clear and the fragile ecological environment problem. Found through statistical analysis, the industrial structure of Xiazhangquan area has some differences and complementarity, so there is a possibility of dislocation development in the urban integration; coupled with the advantages, such as geo-spatial proximity of the three cities, convenient transportation, and the cultural homology, the urban integration has a good foundation. Comprehensive the current situation, existing problems, advantages of the three cities, and combined with the overall plan requirements of the urban integration, this paper proposes the spatial form of Xiamen metropolitan area——" one nuclear, three belts, two axis", and the development ideas of Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou City, and proposed suggestions to promote the development of Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou city, including the establishment of the development of regional coordination mechanism between the three cities of Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou; promoting infrastructure sharing; promote basic public from the fields of education, health care, employment and social security integration of services; promote the industrial development and win-win cooperation through the promotion of the integration of the development of the manufacturing industry, modern logistics and tourism; collaborative governance environmental issues, strengthen environmental protection; guide public participation actively to create livable metropolitan area.
