With the advent of knowledge economy and its quick development, China’s telecommunications companies not only face the tremendous growth opportunities, but also facing enormous challenges. For a long time, China’s telecommunications enterprises stay in a low management level, especially the human resource management is in a rather low level. As a consequence, those employees have less sense of belongings and responsibility and lack the sense of competition. Outstanding talents may be not willing to stay. They often have no sense of happiness when they are working. The so-called Work Happiness of the employees means that the enterprises plan to create various kinds of environment and conditions in order to make their employees feel a sense of satisfaction in mental and physical ways. Therefore, the evaluation of the work happiness of the employees, and the analysis of the factors that influence work happiness is helpful for China’s telecommunications companies to improve employee’motivation, job satisfaction and happiness, which can help companies keep talents thus attract more talents and strengthen their the core competitiveness as well.In this paper, the communications industry is used as an example. The paper applies literature review, questionnaires, interviews, comprehensive analysis and other methods, taking the telecommunications companies in communications industry, such as companies of China Mobile, China Unicom, China Netcom Corporation as the objects of questionnaires and case study, and evaluates employee’s happiness and investigates possible influence factors.In terms of the structure of this paper, the first part is the introduction, which briefly described the backgrounds and significance of this study, including literature review, which covers studies both in China and the foreign countries; the main content and ideas of the thesis, and research methods and the innovation of the dissertation; then, reviewed research and practice of work happiness, introduced meaning and characteristics of work happiness, evaluation of the work happiness and the affecting factors, the relationship between employee’s happiness and job performance, definition of happiness and organizations benchmark practice; communications employees work happiness survey had been designed and the outcome had been analyzed on this basis, including the happiness Index, employee happiness affecting factors, and the relationship between happiness and performance. In the end, based on the results of the investigation and analysis, the paper put forward the problems faced by the communications employees regarding their happiness, and given the multiple dimensions of the countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the happiness of communication employees.
