Research On Relationship Of Urban Economic Effeciency And Urbanization Of Northeast China

China’s urbanization started later, but develops fast, and urbanization is stillChina’s main problem in her development. A clear understanding of the factors affectthe development of urbanization, especially the level of urban economic efficiencyfactors, can help us identify and solve the problems in urbanization. In thisbackground, we choose the three provinces in northeast China as the study area, andwe calculated the urbanization level and urban economic efficiency and theirrelationship, which is a great significance for us to promote the urbanization in future.The three northeastern provinces are China’s important industrial base in herhistory, and they had made a lot of important constructions for China’s economicdevelopment. The industrial agglomeration provided good conditions for urbanization,which made the three provinces once the most rapid urbanization provinces in thebeginning of the founding of the PRC. But due to the strong dependence of theeconomic development model of resources, the extensive model of production andslow technological development led the3high and1low urban economic efficiency,and this phenomenon has seriously hampered the urbanization of Northeast China. Inrecent years, Revitalization of former Industrial Base of Northeast China has beenthe main strategic objective; this strategic objective brings new developmentopportunities to the three provinces of Northeast China.Many researchers did plenty researches of urbanization of the three provinces ofNortheast China and discovered some problems. And in this thesis, we calculated theefficiency of urban economy and the urbanization rate, compared the results with thewhole country, made the conclusion that there was a higher level of urbanization andlower economic efficiency; and then we focuses on the relationship between theefficiency of urban economy and the urbanization, this bring out the co-integrationrelationship of economic efficiency and the development of urbanization, and wefound these two affect each other obviously; in the end of the thesis, considered thethree provinces as a whole, the author provides a method to relieve the disharmonybetween the efficiency of urban economy and the urbanization to speed up theurbanization of Northeast China and the strategic objective.
