Traditionally, the majority of the study of succession form for the family-ownedbusiness is focused on the large scale family-owned business, rather there is less eyes onthe small and micro scale ones. The succession of small and micro family-owned businesshas a diverse context for the reference, compared with large-scale family-owned business’ssuccession of ownership and daily operation, including social factors, family factors,entrepreneurial factors etc. Thus, the original-common used methodology for doing thestudy for such topic cannot get inside viewpoints for the selection and successionmechanism of the small and mini-scale family-owned business; meanwhile, it is not able toprovide a sufficient explanation for such a study topic.In principle, the succession process for smalland micro family-owned business iscost-based. First of all, this dissertation illustration of principle two succession forms-parent generation to children generation and hiring professional talents to manage thebusiness. By clarifying the process, it uses a list of costs that will occurred in such asituation to compare and illustration the scenarios. Accordingly, the dissertation is alsoreferred to the advantages and disadvantages for implementing both forms of successionand given its solutions respectively.Secondly, with the illustration of the issues and the succession form of the writer’sfamily-owned business, it tries to summarize the common succession form in China. Inside,on perspective of the cost, what is the impacts for the implementation of the generalmeasurements for Chinese small and micro family-owned business which is in order tokeep the success for this passing and rally of the business and the is another pivotal point.As the main goal of this dissertation and its study, with the writer’s own business ascase, it tried to show not only a new way for doing the research of the succession form ofthe small and micro family-owned business in China, but also to provide some hints for thesucceeding of this transition process in real world...
