The automotive electronic control system is becoming much more complex with the development of automotive electronic technology and increasement of functional requirement. Car manufacturers and suppliers provide proprietary solutions with specific problems which results in incompatibility between different software and hardware systems and complexity for electrical and electronic architecture. To improve the management of complexity, enhance portability, improve development efficiency and reduce development costs, world’s major manufacturers, component suppliers, semiconductors and software companies worked together and launched an automotive open system architecture standard AUTOSAR, intending to establish open automotive embedded software architecture. The Automated Mechanical Transmission control system conforming to AUTOSAR is designed based on the modeling tool Simulink and basic software ORIENTAIS. First, the AUTOSAR development and supporting tools from system level to ECU level at home and abroad are summarized. AUTOSAR architecture, methodology, application interfaces and data and signal management in Simulink are analyzed. System solution is developed based on the relation between AUTOSAR and Simulink. Then, AMT system is divided into software components including signal sampling, control strategy and actuator control according to its working principles. The software components are further divided into variable runnable entities which contain digital signal, analog signal, and speed signal sampling, shift logic management, select control, mesh control, clutch control and throttle control strategy, select actuation, mesh actuation, clutch actuation and throttle actuation. The behavior of runnable entities are modeled and the application interfaces and ports’ operation are defined.Division of tasks, alarm period, mapping from runnable entities to tasks and parameters of BSW modules are designed with engineering experience. By analyzing I/O hardware abstraction sequence, code of part AUTOSAR interface is added. After that, parameters are configured in ECU editor and RTE editor. Application code generated in Simulink, basic software code of ECU configuration and XEP100microcontroller drivers’code are integrated in ORIENTAIS and compiled; then download into transmission control unit for experiment.Simulation and bench test show that shift schedule at variable vehicle status is right. All actuators’position PID control, throttle opening control following accelerator pedal’s depth, starting up control and shift control during running can meet the requirements, which is the basis for car test.
