In the field of automotive electronic systems, the variety domain-specific development environments are the fundamental software platform that supports the development and operational maintenance of automotive electronic application. AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System Architecture) has become the industry standard for automotive electronics software. In this paper, research about SmartArchitect, the AUTOSAR-based domain-specific model-driven design and information generation technologies, are presented to show its effectiveness in enforcing the normativity, efficiency and consistency in automotive electronics software development.This paper concentrates on the following topics,1) We have developed an AUTOSAR-based modeling method based on MDA framework, including the implementation of the requirement modeling environment SmartUML, the consistent domain specific modeling language platform SmartC-PLF, and the AUTOSAR-based software component modeling environment SmartSWC. Moreover, a model transformation system is devised to enable the model transformation from SmartUML to SmartC-PLF and from SmartUML to SmartSWC respectively.2) We have specified a modeling information generation method for AUTOSAR-based system. Both the AUTOSAR standardized component description and the engineering documents can be generated automatically by SmartSWCXMLGen and SmartDocGen respectively.3) We have also developed an automated mechanical transmission system as an example to illustrate the integrated development process of SmartArchitect and demonstrate its capability in real-world production with the advantage of combining AUTOSAR standard and model driven architecture.
