With the rapid development of Internet, IPv4is wearing away with every passingday, With the advent of time IPv6, it is an inevitable trend that IPv6will replace IPv4.However, for some reasons, the process is long and tortuous. Therefore, in the currentinternet situation of coexistence of IPv4and IPv6, it is of great significance toimplement IPv4in IPv6Internet.DS-Lite system arises at the historic moment, it combines the tunnel technologyand NAT technology and puts forward a more perfect IPv6transition technologysolutions. Firstly, this paper introduces some relevant knowledge of tunnel technologyand NAT technology. Tunnel technology mainly refers to the process of messageencapsulation, while NAT technology mainly refers to the process of internet addresstransformation. Secondly, this paper makes a requirement analysis of service functionof DS-Lite system, which includes function requirement, stability requirement andperformance requirement. Thirdly, this paper conducts a decomposition schemedesign of DS-Lite module, and introduces service function design and realization ofDS-Lite system. In the end, this paper makes an acceptance test. That is function test,stability test and performance test corresponding to function requirement, stabilityrequirement and performance requirement and then gets the results of acceptance andsummarizes the whole test.This experiment proves that DS-Lite system completely meets the expectedrequirements and IPv4protocol runs well in IPv6internet. What’s more, it runs stablyin practical operation. So DS-Lite system is a relatively perfect IPv6transienttechnology project.
