Nowadays, the shortage of IPV4 address is becoming serious increasingly. In order to resolve this insufficiency problem and adapt to the rapid development of broadband, mobile business, the growing of the next generation Internet Protocol IPv6 is more and more urgent. But before the overall adoption of IPV6, a coexisting period between IPV4 and IPV6 is needed. During this transition period, there must be a complete transition mechanism and relevant transition program. This paper analyze the transition technology of the next generation Internet based on IPv6, it focus on several main transition mechanisms, analyze and research the transition mode of the next generation of Internet. Furthermore, this paper will combine the implementation of IPV6 transition plan to test the IPV6 transition in addition.The transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is a systematic project. This thesis considers many key factors, such as network, platform and terminal. In this paper, it will combine the characteristics of current network equipment, business and IPV6 transition technology to select a reasonable, scientific IPV6 transition plan. In the transition phase that the application and the terminal device are not yet mature, the network not only needs to provide IPv6 address for users, but also can offer the IPv6 load supporting capacity of the Internet access and Internet applications. Besides, the network needs to ensure that original IPv4 applications can be normal used.Through the implementation and testing of the transition scheme, the influence of IPV6/IPV4 dual stack operation on the existing business quality is analyzed, which can solve the potential problems to the IPV6 business flow, for example: MAN, IP/IT support system and related business network and so on. It accumulates operational experience to establish a solid foundation for entirely introduction of IPv6.This paper will follow the principles as below to implement the reform program in the evolution of IPv6 network:1 Promote the network from pure IPv4 to the next generation of Internet based on IPv6. Base on the network, to spur the terminal devices and applications develop into the next generation of internet;2 base on the dual stack of public network to provide IPv6 access and IPv6 flow rate, through popular transition technologies, for example: the deployment of dual stack in the private network(nat444), Double Stack-Lite(DS-Lite) to solve the contradiction between the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses and the currently IPv4 application;3 Based on the implementation of the existing network architecture, to maintain the entire stability of the network architecture and routing strategy;4 Smooth migration of existing business, eliminate the influence on the existing user’s normal using and business sense.
