An accelerometer is used to measure acceleration, which is widely used in civil andmilitary field. With the development of integrated circuit and digital technology, thetrend of accelerometer gradually towards integrated, digital and intelligence. Therefore,it is necessary to design an accelerometer with intelligent and digital output function.Based on a research project of Xidian University, the design of a2-axis digitaloutput accelerometer chip XD2020is presented in this thesis. The accelerometer hasdynamically user selectable full scales of±2g/±8g and it is capable of measuringaccelerations with an output data rate of100Hz or400Hz. The proposed accelerometerhas some features, such as programmable interrupt generator, click and double clickrecognition, wake-up recognition, embedded high pass filter I2C/SPI digital outputinterface.Digital circuits of the chip is designed in this thesis. The high pass filter module isdesigned by MATLAB and Modelsim tools. The functions of data adjustment module,wake-up interrupt module, click and double click interrupt module and I2C/SPI interfacemodule has been described by Verilog language. Then, the function simulation andtiming verification of the above module are done. The results of simulation andverification show that the code meet the function requirements.
