This thesis discussed and designed a control system architecture scheme based onthe FPGA——Collaboration between PC and FPGA, and realizing the UARTcommunication between them, satisfying applications of some special occasions.Hardware platform through the Xilinx(a chip supply company) Spartan6FPGA wasconstructed, UART communication design is validated. From the theoretical analysis,based on the general discussion of UART underlying implementation scheme, theoptimization and the improvement of the general design was promoted, and acomparative analysis was carried out. Using hardware description language(VHDL),more reliable communication between the FPGA and the traditional controller wasrealized with the improved and optimized UART module. Finally, I built the verificationflat, test the underlying communication module, obtained the anticipated result. WithFPGA core, I built a hardware system, the design thought is applied in the CT machine ofhospital bed control system.The main content of this paper have four points:(1)On the basis of in-depth study to the timing sequence characteristics of UARTprotocol, the study analyzed the different scheme of UART, improvements are introducedin detail.(2)Through the preliminary verification platform, the improved and optimizedUART module to communicate with a PC is made, and with the help of serial portassistant and integrated online logic analyzer, validation of the optimized UART modulesis completed.(3)The peripheral circuit design was accomplished for the FPGAsystem.(4)According to the design idea of this article, the application of the DSP and FPGA control system was presented——complete the hardware design of the hospital bedcontrol system for the CT machine, and complete the PCB board system.By software simulation and system verification, I finally shows the feasibility of thisdesign idea and the reliability of this UART communication solution.
