With the rapid development of information society, the technology of garment simulation is used more and more widely in the field of virtual reality. Especially in recent years, the popularity of online shopping immensely promotes the application of virtual fitting system. In this system, with garment simulation technology, users can choose garments on personal favor for different garment styles and sizes, and observe the static or dynamic fitting effects. This mode of shopping provides a perfect shopping experience for costumers. In the3D games or entertainment, the garment simulation technology can satisfy players’or users’immersion and make them get more realistic animation effects. In the information age, the technology of garment simulation also possesses other broader applications prospects. Therefore, this research has a positive and practical significance.Combined with the present research of garment simulation, this paper builds a3D garment model and simulate garment deformation based on local constrains. Firstly, based on the study of cloth characteristics, this article designs the outline of the garment pieces by referring to the human feature parameters. Then, the mass-spring model is set up for the garment, and a dynamic system based on the force situation of the garment mass is established. The position of the mass is updated iteratively, consequently, the process of garment suture and fitting is simulated, and the garment modeling is completed ultimately. Secondly, a garment deformation scheme based on local constrains is given in this paper. This scheme adopts basis function as objective function of constrain deformation, combined with constrain weight between mass jointly control the garment deformation. At the same time, a garment deformation under single-point and multi-point constraints is done, and the contrains region of the deformation is extended, so as to implement the diversification of deformation. Lastly, AABB hierarchical bounding box is constructed to solve the problem of garment collision. The collision point is detected through judging whether the garment point intersect with the triangle element in the bounding box. Then, we deal with the collision point and eliminate the penetration of the garment.Results show that, the scheme of the garment modeling and deformation given in this paper, not only gets realistic garment model, but also realizes various deformation effects. The study work done in this paper will certainly constribute to the research of garment animation simulation.
