With the development of science and technology, users are more concerned with the visualization degree of industrial monitoring system, besides of the stability of equipment operation and the safety of data transmission. A good human-computer interaction interface not only can improve the experience of users, but also can be convenient to the remote maintenance and diagnosis up to a certain extent. What’s more, it can promote the efficiency of management of the enterprise. And the system also can be of higher social and economic value.As a collection of production and process automation configuration software, WinCC is open and flexible. Graphical editing language is in favor of modifying and debugging program, people can achieve the goal of general system monitoring through some simple configurations. The paper takes a distributed process monitoring system of gas station as a slave computer prototype. Six screens, namely main monitoring screen, real-time curve screen, alarm record screen, historical table screen, user management system screen and system help screen, are designed and configured. It has realized some main functions such as the remote operation of electric valves, historical data archiving, alarm monitoring and checking, modifying user passwords online and so on.Simutaneously, a background database specifically designed for the recording instruments and related information of devices.The GIS Client, which is developed based on ArcEngine component library describes the approximate spatial distribution of gas station, is also convenient for management of these stations. The data source of the client is from the background database created by WinCC. Users can view information of pipeline instruments by two different ways, and what’s more, warning message will be automatically displayed when warnings happen in slave computer.In addition, the client has some necessary functions, such as accession protection, layers and maps document manipulation, Hawkeye dynamicly positioning.The slave and master-computer can work together effectively. Intelligent monitoring is preliminary realized from dispatch center to the process field. Additionally, the system is a good stepping stone for the following upgration.
