Research Of PDM System Based On Solid Edge Insight

At present, the market competition intensifying, many large enterprises implement theproduct data management system (PDM). PDM system help enterprises to shorten the productdevelopment cycle, reduce the management cost, satisfy the customer demand, and have beenachieved very gratifying results. However, the vast majority enterprises in China are small ormedium-sized, their economic and technical strength relatively weak, and have no ability toimplement a millions cost PDM system. Even if the PDM product is introduced, they only use afraction of the functions. Therefore, we need choose the PDM product according to theenterprise reality need, which can satisfy the most function demand in enterprise, convenientand practical.This paper was just based on this point. Summarizes the functional requirements for PDMin enterprises through the in-depth research and analysis the enterprise, and design a set ofimplementation plan that meet the demand of enterprise for PDM system, which increasedesign efficiency and product quality, reduce the enterprise cost.This paper design a set of PDM system based on Solid Edge Insight, expound the basicfunctions of the PDM system. Taking an enterprise as an example, discussed the steps and keypoints of implementing PDM system. The full-text is consists of seven chapters, a briefoverview is as follows:Chapter1: Discuss the problem of manufacturing industry is facing the huge challenge inproduct data management, and expound the importance and the existence significance of PDMin the field. Sketch out the PDM creation background, development situation and trend. Finally,expound the main research content, significance and innovation points of this paper.Chapter2: Briefly introduce the architecture of PDM system and its relevant supporttechnology. Expound the major function of PDM system, including electronic warehouse,product structure and workflow management and so on.Chapter3: The analysis of the enterprise key requirements. Mainly introduce the author’sin-depth research on production and organization situation, the informatization actuality of theenterprise and so on. Then sum up problems in the enterprise about product data management,so as to comprehend enterprise functional requirements of PDM.Chapter4: Do the project design and customization work for Insight system. Establishoverall plan on the implementation of PDM system according to the previous analysis. Do preparation work and formulate detailed plan before implementing. Point out the problems thatneed to pay attention to when configuring the system and customize personalized functionwhen building the system according to current situation of the enterprise.Chapter5: Mainly introduces the secondary development for enterprise based on itspresent situation and the demand.
