With the development of network multimedia technology and processor technology, digital video system has been widely used in daily life, industry, medicine, military and many other fields. With the needs of HD (high-definition) image quality and low latency of video processing, the traditional video processing system always suffers a lot of problems, which become the bottleneck for the development of high bandwidth, compute-intensive real-time application. Therefore, developing HD video processing system and improving low-latency processing solution are significant to the development of digital video system.In view of the low latency demand for HD real-time video processing, this thesis developed real time processing software of HD video processing system based on Tilera multicore processor, and designed a low-latency and efficient processing implementation. The thesis realized the real-time processing of zooming, Picture in Picture(PinP)/Picture out of Picture(PoutP) and OSD superposition of video from two channels. Taking full advantage of multicore processor’s parallel processing capabilities, this thesis developed a parallel architecture for real-time video processing software. By making a reasonable division of tasks, this thesis achieved parallel processing of video processing with load balance. By reducing the time wasted on video acquisition, optimizing the processing algorithms, the thesis improved the efficiency of processing, and reduces the delay of the system. Experiments showed that the software meets the demands of function design, while the latency of the real-time HD video processing totally fulfills rapid and efficient design requirements.
