Research And Practice Of Collaborative Information Management System Of B/S And C/S Structures

Chang’an Guarantee Co. Ltd. is a medium-sized company which owns branches and offices in more than30regions across the country. The company is characteristic of complex business processes, multi-level risk control, and different levels of approval and multi-channel flow, all of which calls for high degree of automatic approval. So far, the company still sticks to traditional manual paper documents for approval. This approach is not only wasting paper and manpower, but also undermining productivity. In today’s rapidly changing information society, this can no longer meet the needs of development. With the development of information technology, information has been an important resource for all industries. Even in some particcular industries, mastery of information may determine the success or failure of a business. Chang’an Guarantee Limited has produced large amounts of data in the course of business operations and accumulated a huge customer base in the process of development. These data are central to determining its fate. Therefore, the company is in urgent need of an office automation management system which improves office efficiency while effectively protects information security.This paper analyzes first the current situation and characteristics of Chang’an Guarantee Limited and then compares technologies applied in office automation systems in this industry. Considering features of most employees at work, branches around the country use B/S mode design to log on system; for some functional modules which demand important information processing, more secure C/S mode is adopted. PHP, C#and MySQL are selected after comparing a variety of programming languages and database. ThinkPHP is chosen by comparison of all mature frameworks of PHP, and the convenience of using ThinkPHP to design B/S is elaborated; C#Net is applied to manage client. Finally, after analyzing the needs of the company, automation management system is designed with the following functions:Website and back-stage management, business approval module, personnel management systems (including:personnel file management, employee attendance management, payroll management, etc.), messaging systems (including:employee dialogue and file transfer systems, group conversation function, SMS, etc.), system management module (user rights management, security settings, etc.)Eventually, in response to requirements of the company, the research team conducts a systematic analysis about what the office automation system should be equipped with. It designs data base, builds module, designs code by integrating advantages and disadvantages of B/S and C/S. Ultimately, after testing, an office automation system is developed which coordinates B/S and C/S.
