The iron and steel enterprise is the main kind of high energy consumption enterprises.The energy management plays an important role in energy conservation and emissionsreduction operation. The informationalized and manage-control conjunct EnergyManagement Systems (EMS) has been developed and applied in industry with the rapiddevelopment of information technology. This consequently enhances the effectivemanagement and efficiency of energy utilization.In this paper, the development of informationalized EMS system in iron and steelenterprise was discussed. The overall structure and hardware function has been designedand developed with the analysis of EMS system target and functional requirements inactual operation for iron and steel enterprises. On this basis, the software of EMSsystem for iron and steel enterprises was developed, especially the database of EMSsystem. The development was performed according to the analysis of energy data flowand steel enterprises Entity-Relationship(E-R)diagram based on Access2003relationaldatabase. The energy related data from the entire enterprise were collected and analyzedin the developed database. The statistical and analytical results can be used for thecontrol and evaluation of energy consumption of the iron and steel enterprise. VisualBasic6.0was used to develop the interactive application interface of software system,which included system management module, the energy information administrationmodule, energy summary statistics module, system maintenance module and the helpsystem. Furthermore the energy consumption analysis platform of iron and steelenterprise was established based on the e-p analysis method from aspects of materialflow and energy flow. The main factors influenced the energy consumption ofenterprises was also found out.Finally a steel enterprise was selected as an example to analyze the operation processand the energy consumption. The actual energy consumption data was collected.Thecondition of energy consumption and management was analyzed using the systemdeveloped in this paper.The evaluation and important indicators for energy managementand control can be obtained and applied to raise the level of energy consumption in thefuture.
