Documentary in China goes through the "programs-column-channel" process. The year2011is the100th anniversary of China’sdocumentary. At the same time, on the first day of the New Year, therecord channel of China central television channel officially startedand the development of Chinese documentary ushered in the NewYear. The establishment of China’s documentary meets therequirement of domestic people longing for documentary for manyyears. Therefore, this establishment not only promotes thedevelopment of China’s documentary industry, but also reflectscharacteristics of China’s nationality. Although it is not long since thisestablishment, it makes a remarkable influence in the industry.CCTV channel record (China central television (CCTV)-9) wasborn to record channel specialization development in our country asthe background. New century, our country record channels throughthe start-up, growth period, gradually entered the mature stage, afterCCTV science and education, Shanghai, China education televisiondocumentary humanities education, science and education, hunangolden eagle documentary, chongqing liaoning in the north channeland other columns, early exploration and practice, the channel CCTVrecord is the inevitable outcome of the development of documentary film itself, also marks the documentary into the new stage ofdevelopment.Taking Channel record based on CCTV-9as the research object.First of all, based on the process of specialization of channel record inour country, this present study generalizes the documentary channelestablished since the new century, makes a longitudinal comparisonbetween record on CCTV channel and other domestic record oftransverse and emphatically analyzes the record at different times,different channel profiles, the program arrangement features andaudience positioning.Secondly, based on the classification of many books and paperson the documentary and the content of channel CCTV records, theauthor attempts to conduct a clear and thorough analysis on programtypes of this channel through the division of different perspectivesand to analyze artistic features of the specific program case.Thirdly, this thesis introduces the present situation of the channelin detail and conducts a detailed analysis of the subjects, themes,forms and techniques of packaging design, the method of artproduction, and media operation of this program in order to include allaspects of this channel.CCTV9as a channel of CCTV new, its developing time is not long,but also for market control is not enough. But the Discovery channel isrecord the strongest brand specialized channels, through comparedthe two, will be more sense found our shortcomings and problems.Thererore, from three perspectives, i.e. subject localization, artproduction methods and brand operation strategy, the authorcompares the channel of CCTV record and the Discovery channel which is a western channel record, trying to find out current problemsin the channel and factors which restrict the internationalization ofthe channel and propose the corresponding improvement measures inorder to point out an appropriate road for the marketization andinternationalization of this channel and comply with Chinesecharacteristics.This study provides some foreign documentary idea, documentaryfilm with high-quality goods, and the concept of documentarypractitioners among them. Although it is impossible to involve all theaspects of the documentary record, the author tries to provide somesuggestions for the development of the documentary research andrecord channel in China.
