To integrate the advantages of different internet-based laboratories and offer strong action experience, Zhejiang University builds an efficient and convenient internet-based electrical engineering laboratory (IEE-Lab).This laboratory is based on C/S/A framework, and is an experiment platform which combines virtual and practicality experiments.This paper is based on the subject which is related to a national science and technology key issues support projects titled "research and application of the key technologies of virtual experimental teaching environment"(No.2008BAH29B00), aimed to develop and establish a comprehensive internet-based laboratory, which provids experiments of5basic courses including Circuit Theory, Analog Electronic Technology, Digital Electronic Technology, Microelectronic Devices and Micro-processors.In this paper, the research background, present situation of domestic and foreign development of internet-based laboratory are discussed, and a new kind of internet-based laboratory is proposed at first. Then the design and workflow of the IEE-Lab are described. And variety of technologies including Modelica, XML, Adobe Flex, Protel are carefully selected and used. Take the analog electronic experiment for example, this paper deeply describes Flex plug-in design, data communication format, experiment simulation and control terminals’design, and finally demonstrates a specific experiment to clarify the idea of the combination of virtual and practicality experiments.
