With the development of wireless technology, more and more people pay closeattention to wireless location technology, especially to the RFID (radio frequencyidentification) technology because of its non-line positioning, good performance andlow cost. It is widely used in positioning technology, especially indoor positioning. However, due to the influence of many factors, such as the positioning algorithmerrors,RFID indoor positioning technology still faces many problems.Three-dimensional RFID indoor positioning technology based on RSSI was discussedin this thesis.First of all, this paper introduced the four classical approaches of indoorpositioning technology and then RSSI-based indoor positioning was proposed as themost common used method. At the same time, two types of wireless signal spacepropagation model and the RSSI ranging model were both studied in this paper.Followed by an overview of the status quo of RFID indoor positioningtechnology at home and abroad, the classical two-dimensional and three-dimensionalpositioning system were analyzed, including the LANDMARC system, VIREsystem, SpotON system. The limitations of these systems were also analyzed here. The focus of this paper is to propose an improved intersection centroid indoorthree-dimensional positioning algorithm, and apply this algorithm to build the systemon the Android platform. This system included Android client, server-sidedevelopment and the database creation. A brief description was proposed aboutanother key technology-the layout and the selection of the reference nodes.Experiments showed the accuracy of the positioning system which we proposed inthis paper.
