Supporting the rapid development of modern industrial technology without detection technology, which is one of the most important basis of modern manufacturing technology. The detection result of production environment, working conditions, finished products, etc. in the industrial production process is an important indicator of the production process control; simultaneously it also affects the production efficiency and quality in the plant directly. Detection technology has penetrated into various areas, such as scientific research, engineering, production practices and daily life. The efficiency and accuracy of the measurements determines the level of modern manufacturing, even the development of science and technology to some extent. As domestic production equipment and technology is relatively backward, the gap with the developed countries in the lens center thickness detection, it affected the production quality of the optical system seriously. Based on the virtual instrument, I will design a lens center thickness detection system, which has a high accuracy, high reliability and high cost performance.This article based on the principle of optical confocal measurement to the lens thickness, design a set of fast, non-contact, high-precision measurement of the lens center thickness measuring system. The system utilizes the surface of the lens to the reflected light of a different wavelength, it is reflected back by the spectrometer and the resulting data is transmitted to the computer and using a virtual instrument (LabVIEW) of a lens center thickness. At the same time, design a two-dimensional Mobile platform, loading the lens in the platform computer to control the stepper motor of the mobile platform, so that the platform can drive lens to do the horizontal movement. Measure some point thickness of the lens, transfer it to computer and according to a certain algorithm analysis, and find out the center of the lens finally. The experimental results show that the measurement ranges of the system is at least15mm, standard deviation less than1μm, meet the accuracy requirements of the lens center thickness, it can be used more widely.
