With the development of infrared imaging technology, modern weapon systems have begun to attach importance to using the infrared radiation characteristics of object to surveillance, identify and attack targets. In the development stage of infrared weapon system, infrared target body is needed to simulate the infrared radiation properties of the target in the real environment. It is used for testing and evaluating the performance of the infrared weapon system and save the cost of field trials. According to needs of infrared weapon systems testing, infrared target simulation system is designed with128×128resistor array to provide infrared target for the test of infrared weapon system in this paper. The dynamic infrared target simulation system has the nature of high frame rate, high resolution, wide temperature range and low power consumption.This paper has completed the following work. Firstly, according to the functional requirements of dynamic infrared target simulation system, the overall program of dynamic infrared target simulation system is designed, including hardware program and software program. Functions of various parts of the system, workflow of system, structure of MOS resistor array, working principle and system communication protocols is also analyzed. Secondly, hardware and software design of the system is completed. Hardware design consists of peripheral circuits of FPGA, data transmission of Ethernet circuit, pingpang circuit for data buffer, D/A converter circuit, and selection of core device in the circuit. Software design is logic programming of FPGA, including clock module, Ethernet data transmission, ping-pong data buffer controlling, D/A conversion timing controlling and driving timing signal generation of MOS resistor array. Each module is simulated and verificated after the design. Finally, the performance of the system is tested, including the correctness of Ethernet data transmission, functions of ping-pong data buffer for writing and reading, the correctness of driving timing signal of the resistor array with oscilloscope. The system is tested and analyzed as a whole.
