At present most pharmacies are using the traditional way of storage for western medicine and processing prescription by manpower. Now the variety of western medicine becomes diverse. In such situation the traditional management shows weakness that medicine dispensing becomes harder and the efficiency of pharmacies lower. Fortunately, the system of automated pharmacies for western medicine which manages medicines with intensive slot can make up for the shortcomings. It can receive and handle prescriptions with automatic device efficiently. This thesis states the design and implementation of PC software of the system.Combined with user’s requirements, the PC software system is analyzed with DFD and divided into different function module, the overall flow is given. According to the software design requirements, the protocol of network communication and serial communication are designed, and the communication functions of software are realized. With the multithreading technology, Medicine Dispensing Pretreatment Module, Medicine Dispensing Module and Tonic Module are designed and implemented. At the same time, communication between different threads is designed and realized. Based on ant colony algorithm, the issue of path optimization is solved. The result of experiments shows that the algorithm can shorten the time of taking medicines efficiently. At last the management module of system is designed and realized, including main management module of system, parameters configuration module, run log module, debugging module of system and correction module of slot distance.This thesis gives the test of the software function by the method of black box testing. The result shows that the implementation satisfies the design requirements.
