Digital modem technology is a very important aspect in communications technology. In recent years, it has been being in rapid development. With the emergence of digital modulation techniques, analog modulation methods which were previously used can be accomplished with the digital modulation method. Compared with the analog modulation method, the digital modulation has better reliability and robustness. At the same time corresponding to the demodulation and modulation techniques have also completed the evolution from analog to digital. With the rising of the software radio technology in recent years, the digital of demodulator has become a reality.QPSK modulation is a high spectral efficiency in the current modulation mode. The QPSK modulation method is chosed. In the modulation process, extensive programmable devices are used as hardware, to cater to the mainstream thinking of today’s communication system design.The issue concentrates on the design of the QPSK digital of modulator and FPGA implementation. The paper first reviewed the development of the digital modem and application of related technologies. The QPSK modulation and QPSK demodulation frequency modulation principles was analyzed. Then the development of FPGA technology was studied. The FPGA design flow and methodology was mastered. Mainly a detailed description of the development and hardware platform of it. And then the algorithm is converted to HDL description for FPGA realization. The resource consumption of modulation system and demodulation system is given respectively.In this paper, the FPGA is the full realization of the QPSK modulation scheme with outstanding flexibility and efficiency, not only to improve the design efficiency, and can shorten the distance between product development and market.
