Chare gas centrifugal compressor is the key equipment in olefins recovery unit which is part of the methanol to olefins unit, the role of the compressor is to improve the pressure of charge gas to provide conditions for the subsequent separation. Surge is one of the abnormal working conditions of compressor, in severe which will do great harm to the safety operation of compressor, such as destroy physical construction of the compressor if the compressor without necessary anti-surge control. In order to ensure safety operation of compressor, the anti-surge control must be adopted. The design of the anti-surge control system including the analysis of control requirements, selection of hardware and software, the adoption of advanced surge control strategy, design of field detect and control instruments and design of control logic.The goal of this thesis is to design the anti-surge control function for the charge gas compressor in600KTA olefins recovery unit which is part of the methanol to olefins unit constructed by one engineering corporation. The main work of this thesis can be summarized as follow:First, consult a large amount of literatures and technical information, research the technic of compressor control, select control scheme according to control requirements of compressor, after comprehensive consideration decide to adopt TS3000control system, which is widely used in compressor control in various chemical plants. Second, accomplish the configuration of TS3000control system, including hardware configurations and software configurations, and illustrates the function of the human-machine interface. Further, accomplish the design of field measure and control instruments for anti-surge control system of compressor, complete the design of interlock logic diagram and the design of anti-surge control logic. In the end research the anti-surge control strategies of anti-surge controller, the adoption of closed-loop and open-loop control strategy in anti-surge controller can quickly find and suppress surge, the surge controller adopts advanced modules to reduce back flow of the compressor to save energy. After the control system put into operation, the safety operation of the compressor can be insured, the occur of surge can be avoided.
