Centrifugal compressor is a large rotating machinery equipment which was used widely in the production departments, such as oil and chemical department, The insurance of use ratio of centrifugal compressor has an important significance for petroleum and chemical industry. Due to the widely distribution of large centrifugal compressors, for the manufacturers, device's operating status can be monitored by real time, there will be a great significance for fault diagnosis of equipments'later period. Therefore, in order to make accurate remote diagnostics of large centrifugal compressor's failure, the pivotal technology, such as Effective collection, transmission, storage, processing of failure data, and accuratedetermination of failure must be solved.After research on the data transmission and data storage mechanism of remote diagnostic center, the storage mechanism of breakpoint continuously transmission methods and sensitive monitoring methods was proposed in this paper, the problem of integrity of the data transmission and excessive data storage was resolved effectively. Through the research on the wavelet transform, haar, bior1.1, db4 wavelet were used to compress the rotor unbalance signal, the fault signal characteristics could be reflected after the transform, among these wavelets, haar and bior1.1 wavelet achieved very good compression ratio after transform the rotor unbalance signal. Thus, the appropriate wavelet be choose to transform compression fault diagnosis signal can achieve very good compression ratio. After research on typical failure and analysis method of large centrifugal compressor, combine with the actual situation of remote fault diagnosis, LabVIEW software was used to develop remote monitoring and diagnosis system, this system including the module of data collection; remote transmission; filter wave; data transformation; time-domain analysis; frequency domain analysis; axis orbit analysis. The typical failure (rotor unbalance and the oil whip) of large centrifugal compressor was analyzed by this system, and the analysis has been verified in actual production.
