Design And Implementation Of VPLS Over MPLS-TP

As the developing of IP service, communication network is be in transformationperiod. The needs of IP data service are getting more and more serious, for example IPTV(Internet Protocol Television), Triple-play, HDTV (high-definition TV) and other valueadded services. Traditional voice business is still the main revenue of operators, sooperators need to establish a brand new transmission network system structure——PTN(Packet Transport Network), which not only can transmit voice business, traditional TDMand ATM etc, but also can support effectively large capacity IP business.There are many kinds of service can be transmitted on PTN, and one of service isVPLS. Based on packet transmission technology, and the operators need to provideone-point to multiple-points service for the customer, this thesis researches theimplementation of VPLS over MPLS-TP.First, the thesis introduces PTN and its protocols. According to MPLS-TP is thepreferred technology of PTN in many communications companies, so after analyzing andresearching the key technology of MPLS-TP, and based on the actual PTN equipment, thepaper discusses the application model, networking and implementation of VPLS from thepractical application. At the end of this paper, according to a actual networking of VPLS——HVPLS, and based on an actual PTN equipment, I put forward a opinion, that is aprotection improvement strategy of VPLS. So as to VPLS over MPLS-TP can be moreflexibly adapt different network architectures and provide more reliable, safety, andManageable service for every customers.
