The digital image processing technology has got great attention and considerable development in recent years. It plays a more and more important role in communication, management, medicine, seismology, meteorology, aerospace, education and other fields. Digital halftoning is a method that transforms a continuous tone image to a binary image or a color image which has limited colors. Due to small and flexible characteristic of embedded system, this thesis taken digital inkjet as application background, and explored a solution on image processing system of embedded digital inkjet printer which based on Cortex-A8processor.This thesis researched the related theories and influencing factors on digital halftoning imagine processing technology. This project achieved the optimization and improvement of directional correlation based on classical error diffusion. Experimental results show that this algorithm effectively reduced the direction textile and false contour of classical error diffusion.This thesis used SIN210as the hardware development platform and WinCE6.0as the embedded operation system. The system utilized development tool of VS2005to develop image reconstruction processing and the USB driver based on68013in the WinCE embedded operation system. This thesis presented a new output solution of halftone image data and data processing methods based on data mask, which can effectively improve the efficiency of data processing. In dynamic RIP technology, through the RIP and print images parallel processing, these methods can reduce the overall time of printing.In order to improve the quality of printing image, this thesis designed some test image including nozzle state, printer header parallel state to test the performance of machine. At last, the whole system test was implemented15×15cm2which based on360×1080DPI.
