RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a non-contact automatic identification technology, and the radio frequency identification technology and its products have entered into the application stage since1980s. With the raise of the concept of IOT (the Internet of things) and the rise of its technology, RFID reader, which is the one of key components, has gained a wide attention and application. The key application of the Internet of Things is to manage a large number of the heterogeneous IOT reader, realize a plurality of readers working together through network, and capture data information accurately and quickly. Besides, the reliability of the EPC reader and the consistency of reading data encounters challenges, and the readers will play a greater role in the real-world applications by solving the problems of the redundant and inconsistent data. Therefore, the research of RFID reader management methods and application technology has some practical and theoretical significance.the challenges faced by the management of the RFID reader mainly comes from the management of the heterogeneous IOT reader, the cooperative control of reader, status tracking of readers, data acquisition storage, data redundancy fault-tolerant management and so on. According to the problems above, the paper use these methods and techniques to solve them:managing reader by B/S structure, real-time controlling the functions, such as opening, reading, closing and so on, of the readers through the network; using multicast mechanism to manage the readers to make up for the inadequacies of the real-time control reader; defining interfaces for secondary packaging and realizing the unified control of the reader, according to API function provided by the different reader manufacturers; using the collection concept in mathematics to solve the problem of data redundancy; solving the fault-tolerant problem when capturing data by the consistency of hardware and software, and proposing redundant fault-tolerant solutions to solve practical problems. The paper has tested the effectiveness of the methods and techniques through a lot of experiments. They are mainly as follows:tracking the working status of different reader by accessing to the central server through any browser; controlling the opening, reading and closing of the heterogeneous IOT reader freely; using redundant fault-tolerant solution to solve the accurate inventory of the goods. This paper is to solve practical problems based on the specific application, and provide a reference value for enterprises to build RFID applications.
