As modern manufacturing service industry, also with the attribute ofcultural industry, printing industries are important sectors of our nationaleconomy. However, with the development of market economy, the competitionin the printing industry is becoming increasingly fierce and the requirement ofcurrent printing quality is higher and higher, but the profit is narrower andnarrower. In addition to the introduction of advanced production equipment andexploitation of the market, the printing industry also must improve the businessphilosophy and management mode, leading the transition from the traditionalmanagement to informationization management. Taking advantage ofcomputer and network technology to integrate enterprise informationresources, so that business owners can effectively control of the productionflow, capital flow and logistics information to improve the marketcompetitiveness in the era of knowledge economy from the aspect ofinformation technology.In most small and medium-sized printing enterprise, management is stillthe continuation of the traditional manual mode, which gets the orderinformation by asking the phone or merchandiser resulting in nonstandardmanagements, poor flow of information between departments and difficulttracking. In order to solve the problem of isolated order information amongproduction processes which leads to the information cannot be transferredtimely and shared effectively, the paper takes orders management process asthe research and application and puts forward a comprehensive solution forprinting order management based on the finite state machine. A businessprocess meta-model is defined by using the theory of finite state machine, thenan order management process model is established using the meta-model todescribe the each state of the order in the process of production and thetransition between these states, and it can be acted as a benchmark for system development. The main contents are as follows:(1)Firstly, define the meta-model of printing business process based onthe principle of the finite state machine, which need to abstract elements fromthe actual process activities and determine the elements in the model,relationship between the elements, defining a set of constraint rules for theestablishment of the model.(2)Secondly, create the order process model based on the meta-model.Through the research, comb core business and order flow path in the wholeproduction process, then use the XML language to describe the order processaccording to the meta-model that has been defined. The process includesactivities that related to the production and management in the productionprocess as well as the logical relationship between activities.(3) Thirdly, the inspection and test of the order management model. Inorder to test the practicability of the model, the core business information oforder process are obtained through parsing the model, then the functionalmodules are designed according to the research content of the printing ordermanagement system, which are used to verify the accuracy of the processfrom the aspects of bridging.
