Since Reform and Opening in1978, the party newspapers in China have started the process of marketization and have become part of the mainbody in the market competition. And party newspapers in the minority area followed the same way years later. However, greater disparity exists between party newspapers in the minority area and the others because the old style of mindset, managing and operating system in the planned economy.The paper takes Inner Mongolia Daily (Chinese edition) as the case to study on this issue by analyzing the marketization conditions. The three properties of party newspaper and whether it is possible of the marketization for it is discussed in the first place.On the basis of the analysis above, the paper analyzes the external environment of Inner Mongolia Daily (Chinese edition) using PEST and possible solutions are advised in the end by the author.
