The development of Yunnan province has attractied attention from the international society as the process of the reform and openning-up in Yunnan keeps deepening as well as the international reputation of Yunnan keeps rising. Then, foreign reporters’ interview in Yunnan becomes active. Most foreign reporters came from the glabal media such as Asian Media, European media, the U.S. media, Southeast Asia. Foreign correspondents’ report on Yunnan has become an important channel for the international community and foreign public to learn more about every aspect of our province,the number of foreign reporters who came to interview in Yunnan increased year by year under such an external environment. And the coverage of foreign media has a comparatively complex presence. As for the content of interview applied by the foreign correspondents who came to Yunnan, has lots of diversification involving sensitive factors and difficulties in implementation. There are policies to follow, however, it needs more coordination, guidance and help from the foreign media management department in the implementation phase. Thus, it is even more important for the foreign media management which appears increasingly complex in the new era.This article starts from main features of foreign media coverage on Yunnan and the policies adopted since the reform and opening up30years ago, analyzes the historical reasons for the change of Yunnan’s management system of foreign media, and which related to the reasons why foreign media came to Yunnan for interview. It focuses on the problem existed in the current management system, talks about ideas which can guide future foreign media management, as well as some effective and targeted response measures and recommendations for the development trends for the current policy.
