In recent years, an instant communication application named "WeChat" whichdeveloped by Tencent Holdings Limited (SEHK700) becomes very popular becauseof its excellent user experience. Since China Merchants Bank first proposed theconcept of "WeChat Banking", the major domestic commercial banks have launcheda public account application with financial services based on WeChat. It is reported that some banks use the traditional "Waterfall Model " to developtheir "WeChat Banking" applications. When the API of WeChat Public Platformchanged, these applications are constantly reconstructed, greatly increased thesystem development costs and operating costs. In this paper, RUP view approach and UML modeling techniques, through theanalysis of the main functions of the banks WeChat public account applications, combined with published API interface specification, as well as the characteristics ofthe bank’s own business, on "WeChat Banking" business functions carried outsummarized form a detailed business functional requirements, and in accordance withthe business needs of the system modeling. In addition, the amount of future users ofthe system, the number of customers, growth rates and other indicators of apreliminary analysis to estimate the number of concurrent, system capacity, networkbandwidth, server performance requirements and other non-functional requirements.Based on business requirements and non-functional requirements, the use ofhierarchical design, modular processing methods, a reasonable division of functionalmodules and loose coupling between modules, a module to avoid changes have animpact on other modules to ensure the stability of the system architecture. Meanwhile,in terms of application architecture, technical architecture, network topology, thephysical deployment architecture, interface design, environmental planning, supportfor full consideration of the non-functional requirements. Ultimately through the useof sophisticated technology framework and component-based development, to build astable structure, functional and flexible, scalable, high security "WeChat Banking"applications.Design ideas and methods presented in this paper has been successfully appliedin a large state-owned bank’s WeChat Banking project, the system has beenformally launched, and achieved good results. Its main advantages include: fullfunctional (including debit card services, credit card services, investment banking, life services, information consulting, intelligent customer service, etc.), a strongperformance (supports ten million users, thousands of concurrent), and goodscalability (cluster deployment, support for horizontal and vertical expansion),flexible architecture (designed as a separate component of business functions, newbusiness just for component development).
