In recent years, a revolution in the information industry which is based on digitaltechnique has been emerging. Due to the wide use of internet technology, the traditionalpublishinghouses based on the paper books are running difficultly nowadays. By comparingto traditional paper books, the electronic publications using digital pressing are moreconvenient and faddish. A Breaking through the limitations of time andspace, electronicpublicationshave rapidly attracted a bunch of followers, which can be presented in differentelectronic terminals, and can also be copied, pasted and settled at all times and places.A largenumber of traditional paper publication readers have been gradually changing theirconsumption habits, settlement modes and contents of readings.More and more people arechanging to consume electronic publications,consequently, the demand of paper books hasdramatically dropped and a lot of physical book stores have shut down. How to survive in thedigital era and find a way out have become an unavoidable question for the publishers.This paper mainly discusses the problem of how the publishing company manages itsown data effectively in the digital tide. This paper firstly analyzes the digital publishing of theenvironment and social background at home and abroad, briefly introduce the characteristicsand classification of the digital publishing products, the comprehensive plan of the digitalproduct development, and concrete steps by the publishing company. Secondly, the paperexpounds the significance and plan of the publishing company to build a data center and thenecessity to develop Interactive Management System. Then an interactive system forpublishing company has been designed and developed (Interactive Management System,IMS), according to the actual situation and publishing operation process. Thirdly, The paperexpounds the target of designing the system and the function design of each module. Finally,combining some specific operation cases, the paper analyzes the effect of the system to thetransformation upgrading of publishing process, indicatingthat the system can effectively solve theproblems ofhigh cost problems in data management and transmission.As an important part ofthe "data center", IMS system has been used in the New Century Press and has effectivelyachieved the goals to manage and transfer the content data of the books.
