Abstract:In recent years, the revolution of micro-manufacture, wireless communication technology makes mini sensors integrate the functions of sensing and wireless communicating. A network which uses such sensors to monitor a large-scale area is called wireless sensor network (WSN). Presently, WSN has received extensive attention from the academic and engineering circles and got a great development. However, the routing strategy is still one of the most important problems in the WSN research field. The focus of this paper is the QoS routing strategy of large-scale wireless sensor network. The main research work are as follows:First, IEEE802.15.4specifications of physical layer and medium access control layer, which are extensively used in wireless sensor networks, were analyzed. A simulation platform was built by using the network simulation tool OMNeT++and associated open source code. This platform can effectively simulate the wireless communication process and provide a simulation environment for the performance test of routing algorithms.Second, the classical routing algorithms for WSN has been classified and analyzed, and their defects have been pointed out that appear in the application of large-scale wireless sensor networks without position information and centralized control in outdoor area.Third, according to the applicational background of deploying numerous sensors in a large-scale outdoor area, the Increment Multi-route Cost-optimized Algorithm (IMCA) has been proposed. Simulation results showed that IMCA can obviously reduce collisions in the network, improve the success rate of data transmission, decrease the transmission delay and save energy consumption when compared with AODV algorithm utilized in the ZigBee specification. So IMCA is quite fit for the routing of node-fixed large-scale wireless sensor networks.Fourth, considering for the request of data transmission from a mobile sink in the network, a limited broadcast strategy has been proposed. Simulation results showed that the success rate of data transmission of this method is obviously higher than the success rate of AODV and IMCA.
