Abstract:For high-speed communication backplane trace length, the signal transmission performance degradation problems, systematic study of the high-speed communication backplane EMC, SI and PI.First of all, systematic analysis of the electromagnetic compatibility issues of the high-speed communication backplane. Modeling and analysis of PCB passive components resistors, capacitors and inductors, the distributed inductance simplify the calculation of the self and mutual inductances, conformal transformation transformed the transmission line capacitance into plate capacitor; giving the layout guiding rules and to improve the quality of signal transmission method through the study of scattering parameters of the transmission line and crosstalk, as well as the propagation delay caused by parasitics, combined with HFSS simulation; reveals the law of the electric field distribution in the different phases of TEM wave in the transmission line, when the signal encounters a non-uniform structure will be reflected, the reflected signal and the incident wave superposition of standing waves; investigate the transmission of Rapid IO in the low voltage differential line with the characteristic impedance of100Ω and the error of characteristic impedance is5%, gives recommendations as to match the length of the transmission line impedance between the signal lines with using the Ansys Designer to simulate the signal transmission timing.Then explore the power integrity issues of the high-speed communication backplane. Using the transmission line matrix method to establish the power/ground plane model, solution results are compare with the Ansys SIwave simulation results, to get the characteristic impedance between two points, by increasing the number of capacitors, the capacitance value difference and the anti-resonant becomes smaller, and the characteristic impedance of the power distribution network is lower than the target impedance, effectively control the generation of noise.The last study objective is the electromagnetic radiation of the high-speed communications backplane. Using the small current element model to calculate the radiation of the current element, the sum of them is the total radiation, and analysis the radiation intensity and distribution of the backplane traces of microstrip and stripline. The results of this study the design of high-speed communication backplane with theoretical guidance and practical value.
