Laboratory is the important part of colleges and universities to carry out theexperiment teaching and scientific researching. The laboratory construction of theuniversity and its management level directly affected the quality of teaching and thelevel of scientific research.The comprehensive analysis and management of laboratoryinformation, not only is the need of laboratory management itself, is also the importantmeans to improve the quality of teaching. With the development of "Internet of things"and "cloud computing" which represented by the development of a new technologicalrevolution, the laboratory information management system (LIMS) should have afurther understanding, and its development presented some new characteristics.The thesis considerated the laboratory management current situations of GuangxiUniversity of Finance and Economics, designed and implemented a laboratoryinformation management system based on B/S structure, using the MVC design patternand J2EE development technology to implement system, according to the businessrelevance of SOA adoption of the business component design package andimplementation, the specific features include laboratory management, experimentmanagement, equipment management, material management, statistical analysis andsystem management, and other six business components,24business modules. Thelaboratory information management system has the following features:(1) Practicability. Six business components and24business sub module included inthe System was fully covered all aspects of the laboratory management work, couldwell meet the needs of the laboratory management.(2) Simple to use. Based on B/S mode, users could use the system only withopening a browser, should not need to install any client. The system has friendly userinterface, easy to learn and easy to use, do not need complicated training.(3)The system design and development process of fully considering the scalabilityand maintainability of the system, adopts the design idea based on SOA.Based on thebusiness component of SSO login technology to achieve the pluggable management,according to the ideas of the high cohesion of loose coupling, wrote the common pagingbusiness component, improved the reusability of the code and reduce the workload ofdevelopment. (4) According to the characteristics of laboratory course designed the laboratorycourse arranging algorithm, greatly reduced the workload of curriculum arrangement oflaboratory management personnel.(5) Using the barcode for all laboratory equipment and consumables managementgreatly reduced the workload of lab manager in product storage and the chance of error.The system had been applicated preliminary in integrated lab, electronic commercelaboratory courses, application number had reached more than600students. The resultssuggested that the system function design fully considered the short-term and long-termneeds of the campus, the technology was relatively reasonable, met the needs of thelaboratory management well, the pilot users got the praise, improved the efficiency ofthe laboratory management and services, and gradually be used widely.
