Design And Development Of Student Information Management System Of Hunan Industrial Vocational And Technical College

In recent years, the scale of Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College has beenexpanding, the number of students increased dramatically, and a variety of students’information grow exponentially. Using traditional way to manage documents, count andquery data has many disadvantages, such as: low efficiency, poor security, wasting a lotof human resource. Therefore, it is very important to develop a fully functional studentinformation management system.In this thesis, the student information management system including new students,student basic information, class, course, score and system management function hasbeen developed specially according to the characteristic of this college. In the choice ofdevelopment method, the combining scheme of life-cycle and structured approach hasbeen chosen. The design scheme is divided into five stages: including systeminvestigation, requirement analysis, system design, system implementation and systemtesting. In the system design, rapid prototyping approach is used. As deep using andunderstanding the system, A part or parts of system need to be reanalyzed，designed andimplemented. In the choice of development tools, the Visual Basic programminglanguage is used. In order to ensure data integrity and consistency, the Access2003database is employed.A complete solution of student information management system for highvocational college is proposed in this paper, and it has applicability and operability. Thefunction of new students, student basic information, class, course, and scoremanagement is implemented in this system, and it can meet the function andperformance of student information management for student management department. Itcan provide some main data report sheets, such as the query of student basicinformation, class information query, score query and course query.The function of this system can meet the requirement of users mainly. Adding,deleting, modifying and querying of student information management are achieved.After deploying this system, the manager can manage input, output and search studentinformation quickly by computer. It is useful to make messy variety of studentinformation management tend to specific, visualization, rationalization andstandardization. In addition, it is helpful to enhance the management level of school and improve the core competitiveness of school.
