The antenna of the radar system should be stretched out of the shelter completelyduring operating, and there be no any obstructions beside the antenna. Meanwhile, dueto factors such as height and gravity center of the antenna, in the process oftransportation,the radar antenna must be withdrawn into the shelter, So an reliable、easyto maintain,compact antenna overturning mechanism must be designed for the radarsystem.Because of the size, weight of radar antenna is larger, the distance of gravity centerof rotational part and spindle is larger, there are great imbalance moment when rotating,the motor power is very large when driven by motor directly, the volume and weight ofdriving system will be also great. Considering the limit of vehicle installation space andsave energy, put forward the technical plan of antenna overturning mechanism whichuse torsion bar balancing mechanism to balance the gravitational torque while antennarotating. Because in the condition of the same cross-sectional area,the unit energystorage of rectangular cross-sectional of torsion bar is the largest. When antennaoperating outside of the shelter, the overturning mechanism will also act as a workingplatform of the antenna. And to meet the performance metrics, the stiffness and strengthof overturning mechanism must be good, small deformation. In addition, in order toensure the stability of servo system, structural natural frequency must be greater than3to5times the bandwidth of the servo.Starting from outline sizes and weight requirements to transportable equipmentspecified in standard GB146.1-1983, general scheme of antenna overturning mechanismis introduced,including the composition of overturning mechanism,the performanceindicators of overturning mechanism and the classification of overturning mechanismetc.The design of transmission system is analyzed emphatically,especially the design oftorsion bar balancing mechanism,calculates the parameters of the torsion bar balancingmechanism、the transmission ratio of gear reduction system and gear parameters indetail.Illustrates the transmission principle of the transmission system in detail.accord tothe load case of bracket and mounting base(turntable), the finite element analysis andoptimization is studied to the bracket and turntable, ensure the system performancemeasures. Meanwhile, the intrinsic frequency of turntable and resonant frequency of driving system is analyzed with finite element method, make the structural frequencygreater than6Hz, ensure the stability of servo system.Finally,the structure optimizationdesign of torsion bar balancing mechanism and turntable were carried out.Consideringthe theory torque curve and actual torque curve of torsion bar spring are different,usingthe torque adjusting mechanism adjust the actual torque curve of torsion bar spring,let itwith the difference of heavy torque curve of antenna and bracket as far aspossible,achieve the best effect of balance.By using finite element analysis software tooptimize the layout of the turntable,let it meet the system performance index on thepremise of lesser weight.
