Antenna support mechanism is a new type of space fold-unfolded mechanism and asignificant part of the deployable antenna, which is recently the most popular. Antenna supportmechanism is usually a complex rigid-flexible coupling structure so as to support metalreflection net, maintain the precision and stability of the struture in the working status.Nevertheless, there are some key problems in the aspect of structural innovative design, grounddeployable experiment and reliability research about antenna support mechanism. Thus, someresearches are carried out, including structure design, test device design and experiment study ofantenna support mechanism, which is of great significance not only to promote theoretical studyand the level of engineering applicaition in the related field but also to accelerate thedevelopment of national space technology.A new kind of repeatable fold-unfolded support mechanism for space spheroid antenna isproposed. In addition, its test device design, reliability analysis and microgravity grounddeployable experiment are achieved, as follows.The final configurations of fold-unfolded unit and module are established, according to thegraph theory and characteristics of regular polygon combination. And based on the analysis offunctional requirement on support mechanism for space spheroid antenna, its overall projectdesign is put forward. Then its parabolic fitting model is built by the least square method.Moreover, in terms of geometric model of fold-unfolded module, its three dimensional model isestablished, and the kinematics simulation of fold-unfolded unit is verified. All above hasprovided the basis for deployable experiment.Aiming at the characteristics of support mechanism for space spheroid antenna, its ansysmodel is conducted by Pro/E-HyperMesh-ANSYS. Meanwhile, its harmonic response analysis iscompleted by mode superposition method, and influence factors of intrinsic frequency isanalysed.Based on fault tree model of support mechanism for space spheroid antenna, failureprobability of its top event is worked out by RWB, and minimal cut sets and importance of fault tree are got. The weak links of support mechanism for space spheroid antenna are found.Moreover, the improvement approaches of weak links are posed, thereby guiding the design oftest device.Eventually, the test device of support mechanism for space spheroid antenna is designed,thus developing its principle prototype. By comparing experiment results between theoreticalcalculation and simulation so that the correctness of mechanism design and simulation is proved.
