Gear transmission system is the main transmission form of all kinds of mechanical systems and mechanical equipments, most of the radar antenna servo-mechanical transmission devices are used in the form of gear transmission. The vibration characteristics of gear transmission system directly affect performance and operational reliability of mechanical systems and mechanical equipments. Therefore, it is necessary to modeling a more realistic and practical model and simulation. This paper established a method to research the characteristics of gear transmission system based on the design parameters of gear system, the dynamic performance of gear system can be estimated. The study object of this paper is a certain aircraft based radar antenna pedestal. A linear servo system model is established firstly. Then, based on the linear model, the non-linear factors of gear transmission system has been studied, the non-linear gear mesh model and non-linear bearing model has been established, and introduce these non-linear factors into the radar servo system, established a non-linear model. The supporting structure of the system were also discussed, the modal frequencies and modal matrix of supporting structure has been obtained using finite element analysis software, and restore the description matrix. A coupled model for gear system - flexible supporting structure is established. Finally, this paper established the simulation model by the modeling method presented in this paper, simulation data has been obtained by system dynamics simulation, verified that the modeling method is correct and effective,as well as the impact of non-linear factors.
