The Comparative Study Of Development Of TV News Of People’s Livelihood Between Hunan And Guangdong

Since2002, TV news of people’s livelihood program represented by “NanjingZero Distance” of Jiangsu Radio and Television has inspired a huge revolution in TVnews across the whole country which appears in people’s livelihood in the attitude ofneighborhood and at a lighting speed. When all the television stations are pleased of“Once grasped,all problems can be solved”, they have a headache of how to avoidsuch issues, homogeneity，trivialization, and so on. At the same time, this hasbecome a common problem of TV news of people’s livelihood in China today, notonly in Hunan, but also in Guangdong. As the saying goes:“Stones from other hillsmay serve to polish jade of the one.” It is worth considering of how to lengthen theadvantage and shorten the weakness and always take the lead.This paper selected《ETV Broadcast》and《Today’s Front-line》from Hunanand Guangdong where the civic news programs are well-developed for the study.Selecting the editions as research samples which were broadcasted in2012May, thisthesis tried to answer these questions: What’s the situation of TV news of people’slivelihood program at this stage in our country？What are the problems？Are thereany differences between the two sides？What’s the specific performance of thedifferences？What caused the differences？And what should be done in order tomake a further development.Content analysis, text analysis and practice observation were used in this paper.To get the research conclusion, this thesis compared and analyzed the first-handinformation by statistical sampling, while the available published data are alsocombined. The study found: Firstly, there are many questions at this stage, such as,News homogeneity, superficial reporting without depth, paying more attention tocitizen than peasant leading to unbalanced report, etc. Secondly, due to policy，economy, human environment and business philosophy of the program, there are somany differences between Hunan and Guangdong, where TV news of people’slivelihood are much more developed than others in the country. On subject selection, TV news of people’s livelihood in Hunan represented by 《ETV Broadcast》placedgreat importance on political news at home and abroad when reporting local civicnews. While in Guangdong, TV news of people’s livelihood presented by《Today’sFront-line》put all concentration on local civic news. Moreover, the two programs alsoshow differences on the programming technique, the style of the hosts and the team ofreporters and editors.Finally, an answer to the core research question has be given, which is that theTV news of people’s livelihood should take some actions to solve the existingproblems to go on, such as enforcing the public opinions, broadcasting the TVprogram fame and making big instincts of the two. And only in that way, can the TVnews of people’s livelihood go on.
