Being an important equipment in the field of power distribution and transmission, thehigh-voltage switchgear (HVS) plays an important role in power system. While operatingcontinuously, the contact in the HVS would be burned down when temperature is higher than itsheat limit caused by the contact working in high temperature condition resulting from poorcontact and many other reasons, sometimes may result in widespread blackout. In order to ensurethe HVS working in normal condition, it is necessary to monitor the contact’s temperature realtime for detecting the faults in the HVS rapidly and enhancing the reliability of the powersystem.On the basis of research on temperature monitoring system with HVS at home and abroad,the paper proposes a solution for temperature monitoring system with HVS based on ZigBee,and the power supply for monitoring circuit working in high voltage condition is also completed.The system mainly consists of three parts: the temperature measurement node, the coordinatorand the host computer monitoring software.The paper analyzd the ZigBee based wireless communication technology and constructed atemperature monitoring system for Contact in the HVS based on ZigBee. The system mainlyconsists of three parts: the temperature measurement node, the coordinator and the host computermonitoring software.In the part of hardware design, a temperature measurement node is designed by using thesystem-on-chip CC2530and the high-precision digital temperature sensor DS18B20. While theCC2530chip being the master CPU, the coordinator is designed by extending the serial port,memory and other peripheral interfaces. The power supply for the motoring circuit working inhigh voltage condition is completed by using the electromagnetic induction law ance and AC-DCcurrent transformation principle.In the part of software design, the drivers for the temperature measure node and coordinatorare programmed by using C language in IAR integrated development environment. And thetemperature acquisition and transmission are accomplished with temperature measurement node,as well as the data is received with the coordinator.In the VC++6.0integrated development environment, the computer monitoring software,which achieves serial communication between the host computer and the coordinator, isprogrammed by C++language, and which accomplishs many functions,such as temperature datareception, display, alarm, storage and so on. In the laboratory environment, the experiment for monitoring two temperature is done, andthe result shows that the system can monitor multi-channels temperature effectively.
