Higher and higher demand power system operation is needed with the development of national economy.Therefore,on-line monitoring for the fault of high-voltage switchgear, especially for the partial discharge (PD) fault detection is very important.Through the analysis of partial discharge online monitoring method,ultra-high frequency (UHF) method can avoid the low-frequency interference signals. It is received extensive attention in recent years, and become a direction in the high voltage switchgear partial discharge detection.UHF transducer is the key to UHF method, and its research is of great practical significance. In the paper, partial discharge monitoring system is analyzed. The propagation of two-dimensional TM wave is simulated, which provide technical basis on UHF sensor's location. The UHF sensor consists of UHF antenna, preamplifier, filter circuit,RF detector circuit , phase-locked amplifier , power supply circuit and shielding enclosures. According to the sensor circuit design requirements, the UHF sensor has been improved.Reflector antenna cavity is added in Archimedean spiral antenna and simulated by HFSS10.LNA is designed by ATF54143,and the simulation is used by ADS2008.The band-pass filter and low-pass filter are designed and simulated by FiltersolutionsV10 . The detector circuit is composed by AD8313ARM , and phase-locked amplification unit is achieved by the AD630.more stable DC power supply circuits are designed.
