Research On Minority News Since The New Century "Guizhou Daily" Decade

Research Background:Guizhou is one of the underdeveloped provinces of China. It is mainly populated by minority nationalities. The province can make a good economic progress by taking advantage of ethnic cultures. More attention should be paid to ethnic groups who will contribute much to the development of the whole province. Those years, the economic development of Guizhou has something serious to do with ethnic cultures. Ethnic cultures play a crucial role in the publicizing work of the province which is what this study aims to promote.Research Objectives:This study probes into the news reports on ethnic groups that appeared in the Guiyang Daily in the past ten years. The research methods used in this study include textual analysis, references classification, case analysis and graphic analysis. All those jobs focus on how much the reports reflect the economy and living standard of ethnic groups inhabited areas. The ultimate goal of this study is to find out ways to push forward the economy and living standard of ethnic groups inhabited areas.Innovation points:Firstly, there is no article or paper on the study of Guiyang Daily can be found in the CNKI database. Secondly, few article and papers are related to the study of news reports about ethnic groups. So they are worthy of being studied.The reason why the subject is picked out:Studying the news reports about ethnic groups is beneficial for both giving impetus to the economic and social development of ethnic groups populated areas and establishing a harmonious society. As the social status of ethnic groups is increasingly improved, they are paid more and more attention by other social members. They are indispensable to the development of the whole social community. Therefore, party newspapers and magazines should give pages large enough to report the news of ethnic groups and explain some national policies on ethnic groups. And this should be an ever-lasting job.
