The wireless sensor network is an energy constrained network, and the RF front-end is the main power source of wireless sensor network node. As the key module of the RF front-end, the design of low-power RSSI circuit is of practical significance for the development of WSN.A low-power Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) applied in2.4GHz RF transceiver in Sensor node of the WSN has been designed based on the requirement of RF transceiver of Sensor node in the WSN. The power consumption has been decreased and the performance has been improved by the optimizing the whole circuit structure and individual circuit module. The linear error has been reduced by the optimization design of the overall circuit. The circuit dynamic range has been extended through the reasonable setting of single stage limiting amplifier’s indicator (The gain is14dB and the-3dB bandwidth is26MHz). The integrated level of the circuit has been improved by the segmented negative feedback DC-offset cancellation circuit structure. The digitization has been realized through the reasonable selection of structure of the ADC, and it guaranteed the high performance of the circuit with decreased power consumption. The circuit is presented with TSMC0.13μm RF CMOS process, with the circuit area of0.17mm2. The simulation results show that, the dynamic range is at least72dB, the linear error is less than±2dB, the-3dB bandwidth is above3.8MHz, the current of the circuit is less than1.2mA and the power of the circuit is less than1.5mW. The circuit meets all the requirement of Low-power wireless sensor network node chip.
