In recent years, coal mine disaster occurs frequently because of security risks in our country. In the time of the accident, obtaining the exact location of trapped persons and monitoring the environmental conditions the accident occurred are very important for the implementation of rescuing work. Because of complex underground coal mine environment and cumbersome circuit line, traditional wired network is very difficult to complete safely monitoring tasks in the underground coal mine environment.With the development of wireless sensor networks, they have been applied to monitor underground coal mine environment and obtain the actual location of staff. Wireless sensor networks can make up for some drawbacks of wired equipment, having some features of cheap price, portability and high reliability.Aiming at the problems that non-line-measurement error is easily produced in the underground coal mine linear environment and RSSI value is seriously influenced by underground coal mine environment, a kind of dynamicαlocalization algorithm for linear wireless sensor networks based on RSSI-similarity degree is proposed.The algorithm uses the information between tested beacon nodes group and the other side’s two adjacent beacon nodes groups to get path loss indexαof each location, in order to reduce the non-line-measurement error and obtain accurate measurement of distance. On the basis of the case, desired beacon nodes are selected to locate by RSSI-similarity degree and group number. Simulation results show that, under the same conditions, compared to maximum likelihood estimation localization algorithm, localization accuracy of the kind of dynamicαlocalization algorithm for linear wireless sensor networks based on RSSI-similarity degree is improved by about 16.7%. The kind of dynamicαlocalization algorithm for linear wireless sensor networks based on RSSI-similarity degree is quite applicable in locating for linear wireless sensor networks.Linear wireless sensor networks localization system has been designed and developed by combining with technology of ArcGIS Server and ZigBee wireless communication protocol. Linear wireless sensor networks localization system mainly includes the backstage management and the foreground monitoring system. The results of wireless localization system simulation experiment show that the various modules of the system run smoothly, also the administrator user can quickly find the required location region in the map and accurately obtain the coordinate location of mobile node. The result of paper have been achieved.
