Research On Government Regulation Of Cable Television

In media industry, cable television industry plays a decisive role and is all along supervised by the government strictly. As culture restruction deepening and cable television being entirely digitalized, the present supervising policies and regulations are lagging behind day by day. In view of many factors such as the ideology of it, the cable television industry has been always under the extensive and strict supervision of our country. So it is given too much administrative color. The present situation of supervision in the cable television industry has many problems such as attaching more importance to policy but less to legislation and unable to solve the relationship between the economic benefits and social benefits properly. It also has many problems in the degree of the supervision. Therefore, in order to quicken the pace of legalization of the supervision system, it is practically urgent and necessary to find out efficient supervision way and supervision mechanism and authorized them into the official arrangement.The paper firstly presents the current situation of the development of the cable television industry and the supervision mechanism of the government. Then, it analyzes the defects and deficiencies of the mechanism, system and institution of the governmental supervision in the cable television industry. And finally, on the basis of adequately referring to advanced foreign design of supervision mechanism, system and institution, it put forward several proposes to improve and perfect the governmental supervision in the cable television industry.
