With the rapid development of digital technology, the world of digital television broadcasting is coming quietly. At present, China is in a critical period from analog to digital conversion as a whole. How to protect digital cable television operations carried out smoothly on the technical level becomes the most important issue in the cable operators.The Ningbo Broadcasting group, as the operator of the local CATV business, in order to adapt the development progress of the Ningbo CATV digitization, has invested plenty of manpower and material resources since 2002 as to reconstruct the urban network, and already has planed to generalize the digital interactive television service. The main content of this paper is to design the Platform structure of Ningbo Interactive digital cable television network.The emphasis of this paper is the network design of the Bi-directional HFC, which is the key part of the project on interactive digital television struction. Firstly,the various existing interactive digital television pattern is compared, then the interactive television based on Bi-directional HFC network, unidirectional HFC network + IP switched network, and IP network are compared in detail. To start with net access pattern, network rebuilding plan, consumer needs, and combining local situation of Ningbo, this paper constructs a DVB/IP system transmission structure, which is suitable for Ningbo Broadcasting CATV network. The transmission structure from the head-front end to the sub-front end is designed. Focus on the platform struction of digital television broadcasting system design, and carries on the corresponding main technical specification to test on the spot.
